Netherlands-based Slimmer AI is a venture studio that co-builds #AI products with high-growth European start-ups. In addition to its venture studio division, for the past 6 years, Slimmer AI’s Science division has worked with Springer Nature Group, one of the world’s leading academic publishers, to build advanced AI-based software to improve the academic publishing process. Key functionalities include identifying appropriate editors to guide a manuscript through the submission process, increasing reviewer acceptance rates by recommending the best people to peer review a manuscript and safeguarding the integrity of the scientific record by automating the identification of potential problems with papers, such as plagiarism. With the acquisition of Slimmer AI’s Science division, Springer Nature will expand its existing AI expertise and scale and accelerate the further improvements AI can deliver throughout the research process for its authors and customers.
For Slimmer AI, the sale enables the team to fully focus on the AI venture studio.
